Know different types of countertop installations. The forms of natural stones which are used in countertop installations are: granite, marble, soapstone, slate and Jerusalem stone. Polished natural stone countertops have a high gloss surface that gives off a mirror-like reflection. Honed finish is a hard surface with a smooth, matte look to it. This finish is very soft to the touch with a fuzzy reflection. When a flamed finish is applied to the stone, it is exposed to intense heat, creating a texture on the surface. There are other finishes to choose from, but it's all about what the consumer prefers and the uses of the countertop.

Granite countertops are the most ideal installation engineered in kitchens. Granite is known for its durability and its rich composition of quartz crystals, mica, and feldspar trapped within. Through granite installations, consumers are secure to place hot materials on the countertop; plus, it can never be easily scratch or broken. It is also found resistant to acidic products that could spill in your kitchen; thus, it can stand for long term use.
Marble and soap stones are as popular as granite in building <a  href=http://www.petrastonegranite.com]kitchen countertops[/url]  because both are durable and heat-resistant.
